STANDARD EN 13 832-2: Requirements for footwear resistant to chemicals under laboratory conditions

This document is not an official reproduction of the standard; refer to the standards issued by AFNOR www.afnor.fr

Standard NF EN 13 832-1 defines the test methods for the footwear.

Chemical-resistant shoes may or may not include a safety toe-cap and consequently meet the requirements of standards EN ISO 20345 or EN ISO 20347

Resistance to degradation: Samples are placed in contact with the chemical for 23 hours.

The tests are performed with at least 2 chemicals chosen from the following table:

After chemical degradation of the samples, the results of the mechanical tests must comply with the following requirements:

Example of marking: EN 13832-2 2006 B-M-Q

Means that the toe-cap is resistant to a shock of 200 joules and meets the requirements of standard EN ISO 20345, and that the footwear is resistant to acetone, nitric acid and Isopropanol.
